Garlic Herb Chicken

For the Chicken:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • salt & pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 3/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the onion powder and garlic powder. Then, add the chicken and generously coat it on all sides with the mixture. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through, with an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Remove to a plate and set aside.
  3. Next, add the olive oil, garlic, and herbs to the pan and cook until fragrant, about one minute.
  4. Then, add the chicken broth or white wine to the pan and scrape the bottom to deglaze. After that, add cream and bring to a boil.
  5. Combine cornstarch with one tablespoon of water and stir until smooth. Add the mixture to the sauce and stir until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Return the chicken and any juices to the skillet. Serve the chicken with the pan sauce.
