Description
Skillet Ravioli and Meat Sauce (for 2) is loaded with flavors from Italian sausage, fresh basil, and tomatoes. Ideal for when you want a quick, yet satisfying dinner.

- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 14.5 ounce can tomatoes, diced
- 1 teaspoon garlic, about 2 cloves, minced
- 8 ounces ground Italian sausage
- 9 ounce package ravioli, refrigerated
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- Parmesan cheese, for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add the diced onion and cook until softened and translucent, stirring often.
- While the onions cook, pour the diced tomatoes into a food processor or blender and pulse until smooth. Set aside.
- Add garlic to the onions and cook for 30 seconds, stirring often.
- Add the sausage and brown it, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Once the sausage is browned, add the blended tomatoes and bring to a simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add water and ravioli to the skillet. Return to a simmer and cook until the pasta is tender, about 7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese before serving.
